Barbita gens, a plebian faimily. Riccio assigns two coins: one with the head of Marcus Antonius (Mark Antony) on the obverse, and that of Julius Caesar on the reverse. The other with the same obverse, but with the head of Lucius Antonius on the reverse. Both bear the name of C M BARBAT (C. Marcus Barbatus [Philippus]), who was quaestor provincialis and moneyer under the triumvir, and who coined him 41 BC and the following year. See Monete delle Famiglie di Roma, etc p 35
