Mint and Date: Hadrianopolis in Thrace, 198-217 CE Size and Weight: 26mm x 27mm, 13.08g Obverse: ANTΩNEINOC AVT K M AVP CEV Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust left, with shield and spear. Reverse: AΔPIANO-ΠOΛEITΩN Demeter, draped and veiled, standing left holding a patera over a cista mystica with a serpent emerging, and resting with her left hand on a long, lighted torch around which a serpent is entwined.
