Description

IMAGE 154101.jpg

Marcus Aurelius (161-180 A.D.), AE 24 of Macedon, aVF. The coin has
a dark brown patina, closer to black on the reverse, and brassy on some
of the high points. The obverse legend is about 1/4, and the reverse
inscription is about 1/2 , as the coin is weak to the left on both sides. The
portrait is fairly nice, and the reverse image is complete.

Obverse: KAICAP ANTωNINOC. Bare head right.

Reverse: KOINON MAKΔONωN. Winged thunderbolt.
