Almost every collector needs to
sell a coin now and then. Forum buys ancient coins,
including entire collections and estates. We also accept coins for sale on
consignment. If you are selling common Roman bronze coins that
you have cleaned, we are not interested but you can sell free on our Members' Auction.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND
COINS TO FORUM WITHOUT PRIOR AGREEMENT
SELLING: Please do not send coins to Forum without prior agreement. Because Forum is a high-volume ancient coin specialist retailer, we can pay full wholesale for your coins. For high value coins we will pay up to 80% of retail, but typically we pay 50 - 60%. We often buy common coins that retail under $100 in large bulk lots. Our purchase price for low value coins may be less than 50% of retail. We may ask you to email descriptions and scans or photographs of your coins. If we do, we will estimate the value of the coins from the scan or description. The values we estimate from scans or descriptions are just estimates. We must have the coins in hand to appraise them. Coins should only be sent by insured registered mail. Within ten days of receipt of the coins, we will advise our purchase price. Please include your name on every page of correspondence sent with coins. Please mark each coin envelope or flip with your name or initials. Including old dealer tags, receipts, your purchase records, or other attribution and provenance information with your coins may increase our buy price. If our buy price is accepted we will immediately make payment by direct deposit (to any U.S. bank), check, international bank wire (a $40 wire fee will be deducted from the total), PayPal, or store credit as requested. Please advise the desired payment method with your coin shipment. For direct deposit include a voided check. If our buy price is not accepted, we will immediately return the coins by registered mail at our expense. Please contact us by email or phone prior to sending coins.

GET THE BEST PRICE FOR
YOUR HIGH-VALUE COINS
CONSIGNMENT: Selling your high value coins on
consignment at Forum will bring you the highest possible price.
Forum's sales on this website alone exceed $800,000 per year.
We may also advertise your coins in our other shops or
auctions. Some coins will sell in hours, other coins may take much
longer. We will allow you to set the price, however, we must
agree it is reasonable.
Our coin consignment rate is 15% of the sale price. A $25 minimum consignment fee
applies to each coin or group of coins sold as a single lot
sold in our fixed price catalog.
Lower rates are possible for very large collections or
dealer consignments. We also offer Members' Auctions
and eBay consignment
service. The $25 minimum fee is waived for
consignments sold through auction but the fees charged by eBay for
the listing and sale are added to the 15% consignment fee.
Most sellers
will start with a higher price and drop the price
if a coin does not sell. If a coin has been on consignment
for more than 120 days, you may withdraw the coin without paying
any fees. Payment for the sale price, less consignment
fees, will be made on the last day of the month following the
month of sale (if a coin sells in January, payment will be
made on the last day of February). Payment will be made
by check, direct deposit, PayPal or bank wire as requested.
More information is provided in our consignment agreement.
